Name: Baxter Harrison
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Height: 6'1"

Personality:
Very laid-back and easygoing, Baxter enjoys socializing with other trainers and is openly kind to anyone he meets. He’s pretty quick to open up to those around him and can be a bit more high strung in familiar company. It’s difficult to get on his “bad side,” if at all, since he doesn’t get offended easily and isn’t quick to anger. He’ll avoid conflict unless there’s good reason for it. (Friendly battles are okay, though... even if he isn’t a very experienced trainer.)

Having grown up in a household with no motherly figure for the majority of his life, he’s developed a bit of OCD after learning to fulfill certain duties at home. He can be fairly over-doting about his surroundings and/or appearance, the two main subjects he tends to fuss over. He seems to enjoy organizing, cleaning, and so on, but he prefers to keep that fact a secret for the most part.

Another result of having been raised by his father alone is his incessant need for female attention. He will usually go about fulfilling this through flirting or talking to/socializing with girls. This brings out his more immature side, and most of his victims would probably say that he gets annoying before long.

In most situations, he tends to let personal problems roll off his shoulders, and if they don’t, he forces them out of mind. The social, seemingly always happy-go-lucky attitude he conveys can be considered more of a front than anything. It’s not uncommon for him to feel somewhat depressed or anxious when alone. When no one is around to talk to or serve as the most basic of distractions, he’ll begin to think about the situation at home and his current predicament of being stuck at Nightingale Manor.


Brief History:
When he was only a few years old, Baxter’s parents divorced. His father, a successful businessman, gained custody of him, being more capable of supporting and raising a child than his ex-wife would have been. He grew under the care of his loving father in a small Johto town, and the two became very close. And seeing as they were on their own, Baxter was asked to fulfill certain duties around the house when his father was away at work. He’d often clean and organize things and was at times even charged with cooking. As a result, his father would often spoil him and choose to not discipline him, often secretly out of guilt. When his son turned ten years old, he made the decision to provide him with his first Pokemon--a young Houndour named Harvey.

Not long after Baxter turned fourteen, he and his father made the move to Goldenrod City because of job opportunities in the area. Almost as soon as they were settled, his father began seeing an upperclass woman, much to Baxter’s disdain. The woman was overbearing and snobbish, and it quickly became apparent that she wanted nothing to do with the “baggage” that was Baxter. To escape her scrutiny, the young teen would often choose to roam the streets of the city with his Houndour instead of staying home. It was through this that he found his way into a gang, which was led by a slightly older teen named Travis.

Naturally social and easygoing, Baxter was welcomed into the small group and quickly grew close to a girl by the name of Lexi. Under the influence of his new peers, he began changing his appearance and attitude to fit in. He dressed differently, grew his hair out, and even resorted to getting an earring. Of course, this made the wealthy woman’s opinion of him all the more horrible. She pleaded multiple times with his father to send him off, but his father always declined, and the tension between all of them grew tremendously.

Tension was elsewhere as well. While running the streets, Baxter and Lexi had become nearly inseparable. Not only were they beginning to form what seemed to be a relationship, his status in the group was rising. Travis saw this as a potential threat to his power and an obstacle in his way of earning Lexi’s affections, which had been his goal before Baxter had even stepped foot into the city. Knowing of the boy’s situation at home, Travis skillfully planted a pack of cigarettes into Baxter’s belongings. It was what the woman had been waiting for--hard evidence of Baxter’s delinquency and reason to send him away--and Travis was, of course, more than satisfied with himself.

When Baxter went to confront Travis for what he’d done, their verbal argument quickly escalated into a fist fight. Travis was older and naturally stronger, putting Baxter at a disadvantage. It was only thanks to Harvey--who evolved into a Houndoom during this scuffle--that Baxter was able to escape with minor cuts and bruises. The woman, so appalled by the boy’s appearance when he arrived at the house, demanded that he be sent off at once. And although his father was reluctant to do so, he decided to finally fulfill his girlfriend’s appeals, no longer able to deny that his son wasn’t the responsible young boy he remembered.

At age sixteen, Baxter was officially sent on his way to Nightingale Manor--supposedly the most structured and prestigious boarding school his father could locate. Upon arriving, he quickly grew accustomed to the strict schedule and loads of work that needed to be accomplished, more out of sheer necessity than any sort of desire. It was during this time that he managed to catch Gina, his haughty Girafarig, in the fields surrounding the area.

In the two years he’s been at the manor, Baxter has matured greatly and become much more responsible. His father and the woman send him money and anything else he needs regularly, but they (that is, the woman) continuously deny him any permission to return. Thus he’s found himself stuck at the school, left to wonder whatever became of the people he knew back in Johto.

He’s always seen with Harvey.

POKEMON

Name: Harvey
Species: Houndoom
Gender: Male
Nature: Calm
Characteristic: Likes to relax.
Ability: Flash Fire
Moveset: Crunch | Flamethrower | Dark Pulse | Faint Attack

Misc: Baxter's first Pokemon and closest friend. He's never inside his Pokeball. Harvey has lived with Baxter since he was a young Houndour, and as a result, he's picked up many of his trainer's characteristics. Their personalities are quite similar. (They're more like brothers than a trainer/Pokemon duo.)
Despite their extreme similarities, Harvey can be more logical and objective than Bax in certain situations, and sometimes serves as a sort of "moral compass" in tough spots. He can also have little patience around his trainer when he decides to flirt. He wears a royal blue handkerchief around his neck.

Name: Regina ("Gina")
Species: Girafarig
Gender: Female
Nature: Sassy
Characteristic: Highly persistent.
Ability: Inner Focus
Moveset: Stomp | Psybeam | Zen Headbutt | Agility

Misc: Baxter's second Pokemon that he caught while on his way to Nightingale Manor. Gina is rather snobby and does as she pleases. It can be said that she has a complex similar to that of a princess. She demands an enormous amount of attention from her trainer and gets jealous of Harvey at times.
However, despite her condescending attitude, she is extremely loyal to Baxter, and they make a great team when battling another trainer. She wears a light blue lace ribbon around her neck.
